Mexican style Tostada Broghies to add just a little spice to your life
Remember if you are on a weight loss plan you can omit or replace calorie-heavy ingredients.
1 TBSP Paprika
1/2 TBSP Cumin
1 TSP Garlic Granules
1 TSP Onion Granules
1/2 TSP Oregano
1/2 TSP Marjoram
1/4 TSP Cayenne pepper
(Mix spices together, and set aside. Adjust to your taste)
500g 5% lean mince
1 med onion diced
125 ml of water
Old El Paso Refried beans (recommend Old El Paso store brands are thinner and not as nice)
Broghies and sauce as required
Remember by buying Broghies from us you are getting them direct from the manufacturer, often they will be fresher and more crunchy than if you buy them from big retailers.
Brown mince and onion together, then drain.
Add in water and spices and mix well.
Once it starts bubbling, turn the heat down and simmer for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Heat the refried beans in a separate pan.
Place Broghies on the plate and spread a layer of hot refried bean to cover
Add a later of taco mince.
Add chopped tomato and any other veg you may want to add, chopped cucumber adds a nice fresh crunch.
Add fat-free yoghurt to replace sour cream or any other sauce/relish of your choice
Top with lettuce.
If you use more Broghies and slightly less filling the hot mince and refried bean will make the Broghie softer allowing it to be bent like a taco shell.
