Terms And Conditions for delivery

Buying Broghies by post? YOU MUST READ THIS! By ordering you are agreeing to these terms.
Broghies are a dried food product and are fragile in nature. We pack all Broghies in double-walled boxes with extra packing to secure them in transit. We also clearly mark each box as fragile. Most orders do arrive fairly intact, however, we can NOT be held responsible if Royal Mail employees or their automated sorting machines break some of your Broghies in transit. You have to remember your parcel may be handled by many people on its journey and there is absolutely nothing we can do about how gentle they are with your parcel.

Your order will leave us in an undamaged state. Should a few of your Broghies get broken they are still edible and therefore we can not offer refunds or returns. When ordering from us you are accepting this limitation. Here are some great ideas for what you can do with broken Broghies.

Delivery Choices

We have three different ways for you to get your Broghies, syrups and other products from our site. Local collection, local delivery or by post.

Below are breakdowns of each method. Further down this page is a packing guide to help you order the right quantities to minimise postage costs.

1. Local Collection

If you live in the Grimsby area you can collect your products from us between 1pm and 7pm any day apart from Monday. This of course is free of charge.

2. Local Delivery

If you live within 10 miles of Scartho in Grimsby we can deliver your goods to you for a small fee. Our current rate for this is 50p per mile on a two-way basis. So for example, if you live 3 miles from us that would be a £3 charge or £1.50 each way to cover fuel costs and the time of our staff.

3. By Post Broghies

If you order Broghies by post they will be sent using Royal Mail 48-hour tracked delivery. We do have a packing guide on this page to tell you what we can get in each box. We recommend you buy the maximum amount of Broghies that can be fit in the box as this will save you a considerable amount of money in the long run.

Remember that postage fees include the cost of the more expensive double-walled boxes, bubble wrap and other packaging materials and the cost of dropping your parcel off at the dispatch point, it is not just what Royal Mail charge us.

None-Delivery: Should ANY parcel not be able to be delivered and returned to us you will have two options:

1. Once we receive the item/s back we can refund you, we will not offer refunds unless the goods are returned to us. Refunds will be for the item cost only. Processing fees and postage will not be refunded as we are not responsible for someone not being at your home or premises to receive the delivery.

2. We can re-send the goods but you will need to pay the postage fees again before we dispatch them.

Lost Items: All parcels are sent by recorded delivery with Royal Mail or tracked so that we can track the delivery of your items. Should ANY parcel be lost by Royal Mail we will need to put in a claim for the lost item. IMPORTANT we cannot start a claim with Royal Mail until at least 10 days after the expected delivery date. If two weeks have passed since we marked your order dispatched and it has not turned up contact us here with your order number and we will start the process.

At this point, we will either offer you a refund or resend the order. Note that refunds will be for the cost of the order only we cannot refund postage or processing fees.

4. By Post Syrups

Syrups are sent by Royal Mail 48-hour tracked. The postage for these items is calculated by weight.

Please note we can NOT pack syrups and jams in the same parcel as Broghies as the weight of the jars/bottles will smash the Broghies in transit.

Also remember that postage fees include the cost of the more expensive double-walled boxes, bubble wrap and other packaging materials as well as the cost of dropping the parcel at the dispatch office.

None-Delivery: Should ANY parcel not be able to be delivered and returned to us you will have two options:

Packing Guide

Below is a packing guide that may help you when ordering. It will give you an idea of how many of each product we can get in a box and may save you in postage.

Syrups And Sauces (Recommended min 3 items)

These parcels are charged by weight and sent by Royal Mail 48-hour tracked. We can get 1-4 bottles of syrup in one small box. The postage on these parcels are calculated by weight

Broghies Large (Recommended 4 bags)

These parcels are charged by weight and sent by Royal Mail 48-hour tracked. We can get up to 4 bags of Broghies in each box. It is worth remembering this as ordering less than the capacity of each box will cost you more in postage in the long run.

Broghies minis (Recommended 6 bags)

These parcels are sent by Royal Mail 48-hour tracked. We can get up to 6 bags of Mini Broghies in one box. It is worth remembering this as ordering less than the capacity of each box will cost you more in postage in the long run.

Mixed Parcels

The first thing to note here is that Broghies can NOT be packed with syrups or spreads in the same parcel. We cannot change the laws of physics, the weight of bottles or jars inside the box would smash the Broghies. Yes, there are special boxes with stiff separated compartments but we are pretty sure you do not want to pay an additional £4 for a fancy box.

Remember, if you order Broghies AND syrups or jams this WILL be two separate parcels.
